Yesterday, I looked up some of the names of soldiers to whom we had sent boxes of goodies and knitted items. I was interested in reading their postings attached to their names because very often, they do a general THANK YOU for things they have received. Sometimes, they post digital photos of their charitable activities with the locals. ANYWAY, I read one blog of a Marine Captain and he said that no boxes should be sent to his name or address after February because they were scheduled to be moved. SO, I THINK IT IS GOOD ADVICE TO ALWAYS CHECK THE NAMES OF SOLDIERS WITH WHOM YOU HAVE HOOKED UP TO MAKE CERTAIN ADDRESSES HAVE NOT CHANGED. When that happens, YOU HAVE DONE YOUR JOB with that person and his/her associated soldiers, marines, sailors or whatever... BELIEVE ME, EVERY DAY, NEW SOLDIERS SIGN UP FOR A FIRST TIME OR REPEAT SOLDIERS SIGN UP AGAIN ON anysoldier.com There's always a new need.
So, before you send anything off a second time, CHECK TO MAKE CERTAIN YOUR SOLDIER IS AT THE SAME ADDRESS AND READY TO RECEIVE THINGS.
Lastly, I have read many WISH LISTS by officers for associated personnel. Along with the need for snacks, there is a need for things such as SHAMPOO, WIPES, BODY CREAMS, GOOD SOCKS and special needs for WOMEN IN THE MILITARY. You might want to check out wish lists by clicking on any name at anysoldier.com REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU CLICK ON A NAME AND READ THEIR WORDS, THIS IS NOT USING UP YOUR TWO NAMES A DAY OR 10 NAMES A MONTH. To get the address, you have to go one step further by clicking on that name and filling out the standard information. SO, YOU CAN READ THE WORDS OF A SOLDIER AND EITHER GET THE ADDRESS OR MOVE ON. Their wish lists are very helpful and informative.
Thanks for your time.
